Default Ipod adapter

We just got our 08 TT roadster after a two month wait. What a fun car! Wish I would have checked here before ordering the Ipod option. What a total disappointment. I am sure there are after market adapters that will display in the head unit aren't there? I got a Blitzsafe adapter for our Bimmer so I could use XM instead of Sirreus and it works great. Still not even sure how the adapter works, just haven't had time to play with it and the "manual" is anything but help. Can anyone tell me how it really works and how to navigate through the songs? Thanks.

Default RE: Ipod adapter

I have the same problem. I hate the adapter. Doesnt display names of songs. I called Audi USA and they said that they are not planning to fix that problem at all because it will distract the drivers attention. I was very ticked off hen they told me this. Their other more expensive cars display the song name. In order to use it, each playlist comes up as cd 1-5. cd 6 is all of the songs. This sux if u have 4000 songs. You can configure the wiring on the ipod adapter so u can use the ipod itself to navigate thought the songs and look on the ipod itself for what song is playing. You have to get an ipod extender cable and then disconnect the wires that is used to send data to the ipod. The ipod adapter locks the ipod out so u cant use it while it is connected. If you find any other info out on this please let me know.
