Just picked up Audi TT User tips
Just got a 02 White TT Quattro Roadster. Loving it!
Anyways, I've been modding cars for sometime and frequent several other forums like elitedriven.com, importatlanta.com and vehicross.info (my daily drive is an Isuzu Vehicross)
On thread that has been a great help to noobs is the "Little known facts thread"
Vehicross one informed owners of a hidden door latch, how to extend the alarm antenna, and random tidbits on when to use certain accessories.
Any of you care to share some tid bits about the TT?

Well, some stuff is covered in the manual, but not many read that, so I'll run down everything i think is cool about the car, whether or not its very obvious.
Radio can be played with the key out, just press the power button to turn it on as usual, and it'll play for an hr and then turn off, or until you press power again.
Break away side mirrors. They fold in toward the car, makes parking in tight garages a little easier, and cleaning bugs off the mirros alot easier. They move hard, I thought i was going to break it the first time, but they do move.
With a vag-com cable from www.ross-tech.com you have pretty much full access to vehicle diagnostics, just like the dealer. You can also recode some things, like, my car is set to unlock both doors with one press on the key, and if i hold lock or unlock, i can close/open my windows from a distance. You can also have your doors lock at 15mph automatically, and unlock when the key is removed.
Increasing remote locking range is something i've been meaning to look into, on the A4, the antenna was under the rear seat, I don't know where it is on the TT, but the higher the better.
This is possible, but not advised.... If you have quattro, and you wanna burn some rubber, click your hand brake up one notch, just enough for the 'brake' light to turn on in the cluster. It disables the haldex, and you're effectively FWD. Its sorta part of the tests you would run to make sure your haldex (AWD unit) is working properly, but doing it for more than a second or two can possibly damage the car.
Oh, a bunch of guys on the audiworld.com forums just realised theres a pull handle recessed into the hatch on the coupe models, so you dont need to get your grubby hands all over the back of the car, but that doesn't do you much good as a roadster owner...
Check out http://www.loomknitting.com/auditt/ weird domain, I know, but this guys got a great website for TT's.

We too are newbies with our first Audi 2002 180 hp Quattro TT. I saw your reference to a little known facts thread, but searched and couldn't find it. Can you point me in the right direction?
Not only am I a newbie, I'm blonde, too!

achttung, thanks man. Great tips, and a lot of things I didn't know.
I've always found tidbits like this aren't covered in my manual. I have a vehicross and had no idea it had a rear hatch handle...it's tucked to the right of the license plate. Things like this should really be noted somewhere.
Thanks again!
