I am new to this forum, please be gentle!!!

Everyone should be able to do whatever they choose to their vehicle, it is after all, their vehicle!

That being said, If you wanted to make your TT to be anything other than AWD, you could explore making it RWD only. Remove the front driveline components, modify the diff so that it does not spin the front output shaft, to start. I know of at least 3 WRX's and 1 EVO that had this done. I am unsure of what it would take on your TT, but you could start by checking out the few STI drift setups that are out there. Be warned! This probably will not be cheap!! It will be different though....
The tt haldex system is mainly a FWD car. So making it in to a RWD car would be far more costly and expensive than it would in a wrx/sti or evo. Now a a4 would be a differnt story.

But either leave it, trade it for a FWD model or get a GTI.

I agree, you can definitely turn this into a RWD car, but the expense will be astronomical. Hell, Jay Leno turned a Gran Turismo into a RWD car and that car doesn't even have a driveshaft tunnel to begin with. So yes, it can be done with enough engineering, modifications, and sacrifices (likely have to go with something smaller than a VW 1.8T so that it fits longitudely), but unless you have money to blow and just love this style then it won't be worth it.

He also is not looking for a dift car from his other posts. He is looking for a short distance hwy/light to light street racer. I truely wish him luck but think he needs to get a different car for what he wants. He also seems to be screwing this car up bad trying to mod it. I guess I am lucky because a 10 minute drive puts me straight dab in the canyons of the Rocky Mountains or a 20 min drive puts me at one of the local race ways (circuit track or drag strip) so that I do get to enjoy the true function of this car.
