are you saying there is no way to hit 19-20 lbs of boost on a K03 without doing Diode Mod?

i understand your point of the limitations of the prgramming to the max boost set out on the flash.

eg: chip sz 16 lbs of boost anything past lets say 17 will throw limp mode right at my face. when it spikes just a tad over or if the ecu determines premature spike will throw it over the max boost set out on the programming .. boom limp mode kicks in. (just a general hypothesis)

--- just a thought, but would i not be able to adjust the max allowable boost for the GIAC through the VAG or liminwinks or w/e? -----

i will do the diode mod if all else fails, but i would rather not mess with the electrical systems unless obsolutely necissary.

also i dont htink limp mode is a problem more like a precaution. and also a limiter ... but its parameters are set too loosely. those damn germans!!!!! but i love their cars [:@]

a little whole at the boost T.
Congrats! You found your boost leak!
i completely doubt that is the cause. it shouldnt throw it into limp .

why are you so against not taking people advice on your limp mode?

Q: Why am I hitting limp mode?

A1: Boosting too high for ECU, get a diode.
Your Response: No, you're wrong I should have to do the diode mod with chip.

A2: Maybe a boost leak.
Your Response: Found a boost leak.. but thats wrong. That wont put me in limp mode.

C'mon.. work with us. People are going to stop helping. If you think its wrong find somewhere where it says what we suggest isn't right. Kinda like Muderface finding another thread saying the diode mod is NEEDED when boosting past a chips settings.

You could always go to GIAC and ask them to up your boost settings to what you want.

dont get me wrong, i wasnt pushing back, im trying to find an alternative to diode mod, if at all possible. its all part of an intelligent discussion, which has generated a few options for me. (in other words i dont want to just be stuck with one solution)

the leak at the T is fixedat the moment, i took it apart yesterday and checked it. finger in one end and blew in it/pulled it for vacuum simulation, did not leak, so thats aparently not the issue.

i went to a dub meet yesterday and talked it over with some 1.8Ts for some reason people there(local 1.8Ts)are really anti diode, but he was discussing the diodes that are labelled as "chips" from ebay. said a few friends have blown motors like that -- something i want to avoid.

im sorry if i offended some1, not my intention. just trying to generate some options for myself and maybe any1 else reading with similar problems or future problems of same.
