I changed my frontbrake padsand rotors and noticed there was grease on my inner fender. Theres arubber boot that has slid down and its shiny where it used to be I tried to get it up but couldn't, I think it's my cv joint but not for sure. I would take a pic but it is raining outside. How bad is it?

 

Doesnt sound like such a big deal... if you have any doubts though try to throw up a pic

 

Just have the boot replaced or do it yourself. The CV joint itself is probably still fine. Just do it soon.

 

replacing just the boot is harder then the axle but cheaper thou.... i was a major pita take it all apart on my a4
