He hopes it breaks so he can have it rebuilt with some drop in rods and refreshed motor.... im on to you

Yeah, he knows Mom and Dad wouldn't spring for $800 for a Timing Belt job, but they'll be all over a $7000 motor replacement and throw in a big wad more for a Big Turbo while they are at it.

Dont hate I would have done the same thing, them when it braks I'd try to start it for a minute or two and then call a tow truck.....LOL then while its at the shop I'd have them order an after market head, stroke it to a 2.0 and upgrade the rods.....HA HA HA I wish i still lived at home with a TT !!!

My engine build wasnt nearly that much even though i didnt touch the head for labor and all, but those can be found used for $500+

no but really, ill probably replace between 85 and 90, thanks guys

Here's an idea:

JOB.

Then set aside 12+ hours to do the job yourself.

I plan on just pulling the damn motor when I do mine and cleaning up other crap in the process, probably a new clutch etc.
