Looking to buy into the TT family, need to know possible problems
so looking through a few pages of postings here the only major problem i can find is the timing belt needs to be replaced around 50-60k? anything else?
Thats the only big thing.
Seems like a rash of **** breaking lately, but I've never heard of anything like that before. They're very solid cars. Very expensive solid cars, as I'm experiencing first hand.

That is the only thing. I did mine with a friend. saved approx. 900 all parts with food and drink was like 315. www.ecstuning.com (ultimate timing belt kit) it worked perfect. I purchased the bentley CD's for about 70 bucks as well
They are awesome cars. very tight handles awesome great bang for the buck.
Good Luck and hope to have you in the TT family. It's like the MOB once your in you cant get out LOL LOL

Jeff
I think over my break for Christmas im going to the dealership about 1/2 an hour from my house to test drive one. Would they let a 21 year old guy take one out?? I guess I can tell them I'd be paying cash for it once I decide on one....well more like the Air Force is paying for it, 35K bonus for this guy possibly!!
If they don't let you, just tell them that you'll have to go to the BMW dealership then. [:-]
*NOTE*
I am in no way promoting BMW! I love my Audi and think everyone should own one!

In addition to being just flat fun to drive.....
I shopped most of the similar sized cars to use as a commuter on a long highway commute
Pluses:
+ Great visibility
+ Very solid feel
+ Best trunk space in its class
Minuses:
- Check engine light comes on every other day with an "a" in it's name
- Mine leaks at the windows
- Your insurance will be through the roof. I'm 52 and it wasn't so bad
But I LOVE this car.

As for insurance, I'm 42 with a clean record and mine's only $80 a month. But if you're 21 you would need to own a Hyundai to get a decent insurance rate... lol
