Looking to trade my GIAC Chipped ECU for a stock ECU & cash
I ended up shipping my ECU off to APR today for a reprogram. I didn't want my car down indefinitely while I waited for someone to buy my old ECU. Now I know that when I get it back it will work, and I'm done with it. Oh well. It's only money.
I just now read this thread, makes my head hurt. You literaly got reflashed for a cat below effiency code? You know you could of gone back to your GIAC dealer and got a test pipe file on your chip to eliminate that code of even put on a o2 spacer in. At most it would of cost you gas money or $5 for the spacer.
THE REASON APR'S PROGRAM DOESNT THROW THE CODE IS BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE THE CEL DELETE WRITTIN INTO THE FILE ALREADY
all i can say is WOW [sm=rant.gif]

Yeah, but I've heard that the GIAC chip is too aggressive and causes fried turbos. I know I could have gotten the test file added to my GIAC program, but I was worried about the long-term effects of the GIAC chip on my motor.
how? the turbo runs on airflow/psi, running 20-22 psi in giac is just as "damaging" as an APR file. The "aggressive" tune is a degree or 2 of additional timing (not turbo related). The engine is only laughing at the power the tiny turbo is throwing at it now. Stop listening to silly roomers.
Oh well... what's done is done. I got a good deal on the reflash. They hooked me up with all their options for the price of a base chip. Eh, it's just money.
