Loss of power??
Took my car out for a spin today, everything was fine until I decided to have a little fun with the car. I floored the gas and it makes a unusually louder air suction noise, but it gives no power, and when I let go of the gas or shift gears, it does the air exhaustion noise.
According to the Boost gauge, the car was boosting at 18psi peak, so I assume no leak is there??
any suggestions?? Bad MAF? Leaks? Shot turbo???
a 2000 Audi TT FWD
Thank you

Problem solved! Some moron re-directed my DV to the wrong position when I took it out to service! I re-hooked it back to normal and now is pulling like a champ again!! glad that I didnt waste anyone's time besides me. Be careful guys when you take your baby out to service, make sure you are going to someone you can trust.
BTW, anyone knows what would happen if I didn't catch the problem and continue running it with the wrong set-up??

Earlier today, my boost died. Its been working fine. But now that i'm 250 miles from home, I get a 'whooshing' noise, no power, and a "17705 - Pressure Drop between Turbo and Throttle Valve (check D.V.!) P1297 - 35-00 - -
So - the big question is - can I drive the car safely? It seems to handle fine and I can get up to interstate speeds - it just takes longer because I don't have any boost. The big question is - am I going to damage the engine by trying to drive a long distance?
thanks!
