Default Luggage Compartment - Simple Questions ...

Hi,

I am trying to familiarize myself with my new 2008 TT convertible. I have some simple questions that I hope can be answered by someone who has one. I went through the manual and am trying to figure out what is missing from my luggage compartment so hopefully someone can help out.

1. After lifting up the floor, the battery is not covered. The manual seems to indicate there is a cover over the battery that you can take off. Is this the case?

2. I have a Tire Mobility System and found the air pump and sealant bottle. Can this be used on normal 17" tires (I ask because the car originally came with 18" run flat tires and the first owner changed them over to 17" all season GTs). I believe I can but I just want to confirm.

3. I don't have a spare - did the car come with one?

4. There is a long slot in the foam to the right of the battery with nothing in it. Was there something there originally?

5. There is a slot above the spare tire hole with nothing in it. Again - what's missing. I also don't have a jack so I am assuming one of these slots would hold it.

6. I found two small plastic keys.... have no idea what they are for - any help because I'm lost on this one.

7. Should I have a manual clip to remove the wheel bolt covers? I know the screwdriver and torx bit are gone - assuming I had them.

Any help is appreciated. Just trying to clear things up in my mind a bit.

I am new to the forum, but I have a 2008 TT Quattro roadster. Answers I have are no cover on the battery, No spare tire or jack with car. That's why they give you the kit. There should be a little u shaped tool ( Plastic) that will remove the lug nut covers. My car was used also so I don't know about the plastic keys. Have fun with your car. We love ours in AZ.

Thanks for taking the time. I wasn't sure about the battery cover and I had to order the little u shaped tool after a bit of research. I have to say I'm having fun with the car. Almost time to put it away for the winter. Probably not some you need to worry about in AZ
