Default Monroe Shocks and Struts

Ok, here is the deal..........I am in no shape to purchase coil overs nor spend a ton on shocks and struts (can you say potential divorce etc?) soooo that being said, I have H&R springs sitting in my shop and my TT is in dire need of new shocks/struts.
So, what is the deal with these shocks and struts? I do not and will not be tracking my car, its just a daily driver and I want it to handle better than stock (even though I think it handles good how it is). Seriously, I would like anyone input and just dont say "coilovers all the way" believe me I WISH I could but I cant at the moment. Oh yes, this set up will be on the car for about a year....maybe a a bit longer but when the smoke/flames/Im screwed settles down a bit then I will save up for the coil overs.

Thanks and hope to get some feedback so that I can either go get my TT some new shocks or just ride on the worn out stock ones a bit longer........gawd, that would suck though!!

monroe is ok,

TT comes with monroe shocks from factory at least mine was. They did a recall on my car and they slapped on the audi stamped monroe shocks.

Go with what you have.
You won't have any adjustment without coil overs, but the H&R springs are a big improvement over stock. The H&R Sport Springs will lower your center of gravity over 1", which is a good performance and appearance mod.
Just figure, after the divorce she'll probably get the car any way.

I heard if you put springs on the stock stuff it will do more harm than good....

Do you mean putting them on my stock springs now or putting them on monroe shocks? Heck, are the monroe shocks the same as stock?

Stratmosphere has 20% off everything on their site, that means you can get Vmaxx coilovers for $520+shipping (probably another $50) which is less than you can get a decent set of shocks for.

The thought is that the springs will wear poorly when installed on worn shocks/struts. My understanding is that he is installing everything new.
Another issue is that the install is a pain and something, at least for me, I don't want to have to do again any time soon. So, best to do something you plan to live with for a while.

The lowering springs will kill your stock struts/shocks faster than normal. This is why you need to install new shocks with them otherwise you will be doing it all again shortly
