My baby got hit!
At least you know where to find him if he does try to mess with you I'm sure he will get a nice fine for not correcting a known defective piece of equipment hopefully you have a really good shop that can get your car back to the way it was
I know you're upset, but try to calm down. You car sounds very fixable. Don't worry about gaps and stuff as long as you take it to a good reputable shop. The core support wasn't bent from what you said and that means that the fender bulkheads are probably okay too.
I had an accident with my Avant last winter. I slid off the road in a snowstorm and ditched it into the side of a hill. I had $8k in damage, but if you didn't know my car was in an accident you would never be able to tell. There are good shops out there, you just need to shop around and ask questions.
Try to stay calm if you can. It's really not as bad as it sounds from the estimate of $6k. You should have seen my car after the wreck. The whole front bumper was gone and both fenders were wiped, the hood was damaged too. Two new fenders, a new core support and some work on the hood and it was fine. The thing to do is find a shop that does a lot of European cars.
This is what my car looks like now after being fixed. I took advantage of the fact that it was in the shop and had my lowers painted while they did the other work.

I'm calm.
The only part of the whole ordeal that bugged me other than my car being damaged was the way the guy talked to me. Even if it had nothing to do with my vehicle, having someone talk to you like you're some idiot doesn't really sit well with most people.
I took it to a good shop. Thankfully my step-father has adjusters out here that recommended this place (all of them said the same thing). I'm not too worried about gaps, misalignments or anything of the sort.
