My clutch is shot...Time for new one
So now that i knowthe clutch totally needs replacement (thanks for the help/info), what do you guys think is a good deal? i looked into ecs deal for new clutch around $300. Anyone know of any others? Do you guys think i will also need a flywheel?? (clutch severity: no acceleration in 6-3rd gear)
going along with outties question... if your just keeping it simple, like a chip and exhaust then you should stay stock... however, once you start getting more powahhh youll need an upgraded clutch... so now would be the right time to ask yourself if you will be going big or not
I have an ECS tuning (Stage 1) FLYWHEEL/CLUTCH - They come together.
I have a APR tuning chip/borla exhast. - Between the 3 mod's I'm more than happy with the cars proformance. - The clutch itself grabs MUCH harder than the stock clutch. - It's great for engine breaking around corners...etc
Make sure you break it in *500 or so miles* before you beat on it. - You dont want to break it!

A friend of mine has a spec 2+ with a steel lighter weight flywheel and he has a lot of shatter.
He now wishes he would have stayed with the stock dual mass flywheel.
I had my clutch replaced to just a stock oem clutch and pressure plate but they didn't replace my stock flywheel so
I hope that will not give out any time soon. Car runs good but doesn't grab nearly as well as his clutch does.
I would go with the Spec 2+ set up with the stock Dual Mass Flywheel.
Also, why do you have to break your clutch in? It's not like it gets any stronger with use. I am not that hard on clutches
anyway and never need a clutch replaced. I bought this car with a bad clutch but the dealer replaced it with probably
the cheapest thing they could find.
