$500 just to look at it?!?!
Ugh! [:@]
What happens if they say it's your fault and you tell them not to fix it?
Will they put it all back together and charge you an additional $500...
I hate dealerships!
Best of luck! Hopefully it will be covered!

This may sound like a foolish decision on my part, but I think the $500 risk is worth taking to get warranty coverage. If I tow the car to an independent, it will be cheaper than the dealer, but then it is set in stone that I will have to pay thousands. If the Audi reps still void my warranty after all of this, then more drastic measures will have to be taken. I won't tow my car to an independent mechanic until I am completely sure that all is hopeless with the dealer and warranty.

Horrible news. Dealership said that Audi will not cover the repairs due to tampering with the fuel injection system, racing indicated by the ECU, and the overrev. I have done none of these things, but the dealership told Audi all of this. So now Audi will not cover any of it.

I also believe that someone who works at that dealership is reading this very post for reasons I will not get into... they are using it to their advantage. So I would like this thread to be deleted soon after this post, if possible.

Anyway, monthly payments for this car will no longer be paid. I am not sure what will happen.

One thing that will happen if you quit making payments is that you will destroy your credit rating and not be able to finance a car again for years to come - except at crazy rates/terms. You don't wanna do that.

What is your insurance company saying about all this?

Insurance will not cover this because it wasn't really an accident. There is also no proof that they can go on, etc.

Platinum, if you are unable to work with Audi on this and you are in a tight financial spot, I may know someone who can help you secure a small loan (if you cannot or do not wish to through your own bank). If this may help you, let me know through PM and I will forward you his contact information and the company's website.

Sorry to offer so little assitance, good luck and keep us posted if you get any good news.

Great news! Audi reps came out to thouroughly look over the damage this week. Guess what their conclusion was..... a mechanical defect! I can't believe it either. My new motor will be completely covered via warranty. A pin on one of the cylinder rods came lose making the rod into a flying projectile that immediately destroyed the motor and some other parts. It was not actually caused by a misshift at all. I am so glad this nightmare is finally over. I'll be able to get my car sometime next week.
