Default RE: My motor is blown.

hello everyone,
i'm a new owner of an 01 tt quattro, when io bought the car form the dealership it said as is......
i asked a few questions ie clutch job, they said it had been recently done less than 300 miles ago. that's a plus.
the dealer also stated that they had performed over 3g of maintenance on it before it goes back on the lot.
the car has 92k miles on it when i purchased it 2 wks ago.

well here's the story the car was idling last night after i had the boost gauge installed. i heard a clicking, tapping sound intermittent, so i shut it off. i pooped the hood and see if there are anything loose, but there's no way as i didn't mess around in that area.
i started the car back again and there's the sound again, so igot out of the car and see if it'll clear itself up. before i could go back around the front to where the sound was coming from, it died.....
tried to start it a couple of times, no luck, i checked all fuses all in good working order along with all the electronics in the car.
went to the dealer and from what i had been told by the service manger, 900 for the r&r on the head to see if there are any valves, pistons that are messed up, if there is then an engine would be needed if not they'll proceed with the tb as the belt is good and the mech said it jumped a couple teeth.. i had the tb work scheduled for tomorrow at 1300, why couldn't it wait another 2 days....
is there an engine rebuild kit out there for this car or do i have to go ahead and fork out the 6g that they are estimanting minus labor.
please help. thanks in advance

account is nothing more than a number make assumptions if you will.
i'm trying to get different opinions and receive different input from anyone.
just very frustrating after two weeks of driving this happens.
and coming from the dealership and engine purchase might be in the future, so a different research method is tackled.

if trying to up my account is what others feel then maybe just maybe someone that has sarcasm and negativity and posting is doing the same.

I was just kidding about the post ***** comment.

It doesn't do you any good to find someone elses blown motor experience and try and relate it to your own. You already posted once your symptoms and people replied. Maybe you didn't like what you heard.. but its still not going to change.

Please dont take offense to my sarcastic comment. This thread you dug up isn't helping you at all. 7 out of 10 times the guy who posted originally isn't even around anymore. Stick to your original try and just keep updating so you push it to the top of the page and see if you get more help.

Best of luck though with your engine.
