Default Need advice for mods on a stock 225

Hey guys, I have yet to purchase a TT but I just sold my A4 to get a 01-03 225 TT. I plan to get a completely stock one with less than 100K miles.

When I purchase the car I want to INSTANTLY do these list of mods but I am unsure about the exact brands and products that I've selected. Advice/reviews please?

Mods:

Performance/Suspension:
REVO Chip (260bhp/284torque)
APR R1 DV
Samco Hoses
Unsure about my intake but I'm thinking EVO MS.
Unsure about my coil overs but I'm debating H&R or Stasis (leaning towards Stasis)
Unsure about my exhaust but I'm thinking Borla. (I just want something very subtle and deep)
Some decent rims that wont ruin in Colorado. Thinking about ASA AR1's.

Extras:
Probably going with full alpine set up for audio with 1 12" Type-R in a ported box.
Probably a boost gauge that goes in the vent.

Please give advice and links to the products that you would recommend over the ones I have.

THANKS!!!

For intake. Just get a BPI flow stack and a AEM dryflow filter
for exhaust i would look at blue flame. Its half the cost of borla and is a good exhaust
for the boost gauge i would look at the APR vent mount
h&r coils are good. I plan on running vmaxx
as for audio. I know nothing about it
rims... dunno... I hear you can run forged wheels in the snow? that could be a lie though.

Thanks for the tips MySlow1, by the way if that is your White Audi TT (beautiful).

MeanAudiA6 - as much as I like your car, we have spoke about your TT and your just located too far for me and I wouldnt really know how to go about purchasing a car long distance. If I still lived in Indianapolis we would have more to talk :-D. Good luck once again btw.

I would look at KW coilovers. Stasis (you mean the Ohlins ones, right?) is nice, but $$$.
Add DEFCONs when you do the coilovers.
Add Swaybars - either 19 rear only, or 21 rear with a front upgrade as well.
Add performance Haldex controller.

For the boost gauge, check out the liquidTT for much more functionality.

Brakes?

yah no problem man. Yes that is my white tt and thank you lol

and what mike said. The liquidtt is awesome i have one... it does boost and tons of other stuff too. I use mine as a boost gauge and, sometimes i do 0-60 times and mess with the other stuff as well... depends on my mood.

I'd get Unitronics over Revo (better A/F and power with lower boost, you won't need a 4bar FPR, and Uni is hella-good for updates and support for the 1.8T), the only silicone you should really get is a TIP (better DV response and will add power w/a chip) - going along with that, an intake is only for sound/looks, they don't add power. Hoses aren't necessary because the stock SMICs and hoses are fine for even a chipped 225. You get new hoses when you get a FMIC Borla is loud, get a Millitek or Blueflame for a classier exhaust...my Blueflame/42DD sounds like a sub when I'm at a red light

You should also get an oil temp and/or pressure gauge when getting tuned - oil temp is nice because you know when your car is ready to rip, but pressure is more useful important. Get both and mount all three to replace the ashtray

l88m thanks for the all the advice you told me a lot of extra detail.

Well guys thanks for the info, but it seems like I will be buying my TT in the next few days. The contenders are:

- All 225's and all stock and all very very clean

2003 Dark Grey (Black Interior) - 74K Miles asking price 18,000 (talked him down to 15,500) (also the timing belt hasn't been done)

2001 Black (Black Interior) - 59K Miles asking price 17,900 (have not discussed price but he already said he is highly flexible)

2001 Black (Black Interior) - 65K Miles asking price 14,500 (supposed to see the car today)
