One more quick question, is there any reason why the intercooler piping on the 180 is so flat after it comes out of the SMIC? Can you replace it with a bigger hose or will it interfear with something? Thanks.

well I changed the coils and that fixed the problem. Its hard to beleive one bad coil could cause all that mess. I will get the APR FMIC in on the 1st when I have more $$$. I hope that will keep the temps way down. I think with the FMIC I can drop the boost psi one or two too to help keep the temp down and hopefully not loose any hp.

Ther was a national back order on the parts so I had to go to Audi at $55 ea. I think Audi kows everyone is replacing these and are not selling the parts to any other companies so they can get all the bucks.

Well I have the FMIC nd will be getting it installed in a few days, had to wait for new month and more $$$$. So how much will this lower my temps from the one SMIC? I have replaced the coils but now Im scared to do more than just drive the thing to and from work for fear of messing up the coils again. I hope it really lowers the temp cuz that engine gets really hot. Thanks.

Coil Recall

You should be fine with the new ones. Sorry I didn't see this earlier to post the link, but they did recall certain coil packs, and your year was affected. Might want to go back to Audi and talk to them about that, they shouldn't be charging you to replace recalled parts.
