alright.. well you guys got me... i guess im too young to afford this car...
so,
i guess if anyone has any opinions as to what other cars i could get since im not too experienced with the market.

heres what im looking for:
1) Sporty look just like the audi, or s2k honda or s4 audi, somethin' cool like that for a youngster 16-17 year old
2) Power: I was only going to be able to afford the 180hp with the TT... so if the car you guys think i should get has more power than this, that would be cool too
3) Obviously, cheaper than the audi , something like a toyota, nissan, honda, somethin easy to maintain
4) Stick shift

just put the car type and model... thanks guys

Well you keep saying your only 16 and your parents will help when needed then why not get them to help get a newer year so there wont be as many prblems with the car. I personally think a TT is a bad 1st car for a 16 yr old with no income to support the car but if the parents are leting you pick the car then go for a newer year.

No 16 year should have anything to do with a TT, much less an S4. Don't be greedy on your first car; treat it as a learning experience. Buy a front wheel drive (for snow) 5-speed. If you were my kid I'd advise a Ford Focus; an absolute blast to drive, one of the best handling chassis around, great quality & reliability, and DIRT cheap, and not enough power to get you easily killed. I just sold my 2002 ZX3 for $5200, 82K miles, perfect condition.

Then you're one lucky kid I'd say! I had a 89 Mustang 5.0 that I sold to a 16 yo as his first car. I hadused it for track days & it had a rollbar, lowered suspension, rear disc, etc. The kid's mom& stepdad came with him to look at the car & Mom asked what the rollbar was; I said it was a safety feature & she said, "oh, that's nice." Stepdad and the kid exchanged looks, knowing Mom had been snookered. They bought the car but she failed to register it in a timely manner. About 2 weeks later she calls up and says someone cut junior off on the freeway & he swerved, skidded, & hit the center divider, totaled the car. Happened to be raining at the time so I knew he was screwing around, gassed it, lost the rear end (very easy to do with those 5.0s - tons of torque), and that was that. The moral of the story is try your best not to do anything stupid (I know from personal experience it's hard when you're a 16 or 17 yo male), because all it takes is one bad call.

Honestly, you should pass on the TT, and grab an S6 and add in a nice stage 3 kit, with some carbon fiber wings, hood, trunk, etc. I'd then proceed to get lambo style doors, ricer stripes, and 22" 'spinner' rims.

do you homework on the tt, or any euro car for that matter before you just go buy one for the looks performance factors. like it was said before there are some pretty significant maintenance costs involved with any european car if you want to keep it running like it was meant to. if you think you can handle the cost and are willing to deal with some headaches...go for it. i wish i was lucky enough to have been able to have a tt for a first car. don't be discouraged by some of the previous comments which seem to be driven more by jealousy than a sincere desire to help. while it may not be the best choice for a first car, it's far from the worst. just do your homework and know what your getting into... and don't drive it like a jackass, you'll make us all look bad.
