Default need help on wheel fitment and spacers

Ok, so I got done cleaning my house yesterday and it was about 4:00PM and some friends were over. I decided to mount my new 18x8 Axis Supermesh Rims (225/40/18 Potenza) on my TT.

I put on the front TT rims with no problem but there was something really weird. The fronts have spacers on them but they are like super super thin (like 1mm) and I didn't know I bought this car with spacers on them. My front rims JUST clear the brakes (I can shove maybe two sheets of paper in between them).

After that, I decided to do the rears after the fronts (duh) but sadly, there were no spacers in the rear and my Supermesh's spokes are touching the brakes. So after mounting the 3rd wheel, I noticed I had to undo everything.

Now I am trying to figure out what I should do to make these rims fit right, run right and look nice. I rather not buy different rims or put smaller brakes on so I'm naturally looking at wheel spacers.

Thats the big question of the day.

What brand wheel spacers? (I was thinking H&R but what about the ECS ones)
Size? (Smaller in the front, bigger in the back?)

All advice appreciated. Pictures if you have examples of your setup would be great.

I was also wondering, spacing wheels out give a wider stance thus better control but how do wheel spacers affect tire wear?

You need to give more information about your rims. For example what is the offset, cause saying they are 18x8 isn't enough information. Also do you want the lip of your rims to be tucked inside the wheel well or you want it flushed.

Here is the link for the Wheel calculator http://www.2x.ca/TT/offset/. Just enter the numbers accordingly (leave the spacers input area empty, cause the calculator will tell you what the spacers will be in mm), it will tell you what size spacers you will need to make your rims flushed with your fenders. If you don't want them to be flushed, then either 5mm or 10mm spacers will work. I had the same problem and used 10mm cause that is what I had and I also wanted my 9.5" rims to be flushed with my quarter panel.

i just winged it, and put a 5mm ecs kit in the front and 20mm ecs kit in the rear, the rear tires and rim are JUST a bit away from flushing with the fender, im still checking for tire rub in the front though, i assumed by going to the 18x8 (35et) would create an issue with my ride height but i havnt felt or heard any indications of tire rub yet.

With my 18x8,35mm offset, I'm running 15mm on the front and rear. You should bump up the front spacers to 12 or even 15.

^ +1.

i'd keep the front and rears within a 10mm spacer range max from one another (i.e. - F - 10mm/ R - 20mm) if the wheels are the same size.

15s front and rear are ideal(for me). Because they don't make my understeer worse.

Yeah, 15s & 20s with my super 7s was perfect. When I go my RS4 reps, I had to step it down a little.
