Default New Engine

I have a 2002 TT 180. Over the past 2 years i have done a few upgrades such as the APR chip,APR R1 DV, Eurospec E05b turbo, 42dd turbo-back exhaust, and an Evolution Motorsport Cold Air Intake. My Engine now has a problem with the internal rings, and will be very expensive to fix. I talked this over with my local shop "Blackforest" and we both agreed that putting a new engine in the car would be the best option. The question i have is: is there any other engine i can put in besides the stock 180hp tt engine, that will still allow me to keep all my aftermarket parts with it? Id just hate to spend $3-4k on an engine swap and be at the same power i am at now. Please post if you know any options. Thanks

all the 1.8t's will give you the same power unless you drop in a 225 motor which will actually lower it since it has lower compression.

If you have bad rings, you can just rering the motor unless the rings scored the walls to bad.

Yeah i just ended up getting i newer 180 motor with less miles than mine. I just hate to spend this money and not really improving anything, but thanks for the info. Plus with all my aftermarket parts im making 325 and still paid less than for a 225 tt!
