Hi All,

I just got a 2001 Roadster, black with the baseball interior. I couple of years ago I had a S2000 and I always scoffed at the TT thinking that is was not a serious sports car and after I took it for a test drive I was blown away at how much faster it feels than the S2000 although it doesn't handle as well but close.

I'm guessing that the car has been chipped. Is there an easy way to find out? If it has been chipped, typically what kind of power is it making and 0-60 times? One thing I've noticed is that the car shakes a lot more over bumbs than the S2000 (cowl shake) and the roof rattles very loudly, is this normal? Also, there is a smell of gas in the cabin constantly, the kind of thing I would have expected in a much older car.

Overall I thing the TT is a great car, love the looks, handling and sound of the engine/exhaust and I'm amazed by the power, I've already killed quite a few cars that I would have had trouble with before

Thanks all.

definitely shouldnot be a smell of gas in the car. the boost gauge will tell you fast if your tt is chipped. i think if you get a vag-com cable you could tell as well.
chipped 180= ~220hp not sure on the tq.
chipped 225= ~260hp and 280tq
a chipped 180 will walk a stock 225 cause the 180 is much lighter.

do the math on 0-60with thepower/weight ratio. i've heard of some chipped 225's get into the high 5's.
