bah jus start off with the FMIC cinc. i wouldn't spring for the stainless, aluminum piping is fine.

how are you gonna route the piping? tuner-stop/greddy style?

and the IC support... no need to drill holes in the crash bar correct? you should just use bended brackets around the crash bar
I will be using something more like the tuner-stop/greddy approach, but cleaner and hopfully shorter. I dont plan on anyone having to do any fab/cuting/drilling of anything unless it would save the end user money and/or add performance.

I have 2 idea in mind on what i want to do as of right now. The first would come with a core that would easily run 325whp and still be perfect for a stock turbo. The best part of this setup is thatthe intercoolerwill be far smaller than a tCarbon kit.So instead of having a large core and having most of the flow only going to a small portion of the core, it will be more evenly distributed over the entire coreresulting inlower intake tempsand less to no timing pull (= more power.) This will be the stock + setup and i will make larger pre ic pipes and offer a larger core for those wanting something for more power.

The other setup i am still not sure if it will work yet or not. Im hoping it will since it will cut piping length down a few feet and possibly even keep the aliens (just for you Miguel ) all while fitting behind the crash bar. This setup will be like no other kit on the market, which is what i really want.

I really can wait to get started and im sure some of you are the same way.

Thanks, Nate

whats your plan for the 180 tt. as far as the intercooler goes. i build my kit out of full stainless steel and ran the pipe right over the engine, past the battery. then to the intercooler, and back up to the engine. I also relocated the dv by the throttle body. so that would be an added bonus to a kit.also to reply to the silicone hose question, THe best pipe is metal pipe. it has no flex. silicone will do the job but metal is ideal.

ya cinc. i'd like to keep my boost hoses from eurojet... so if at all, don't go anywhere near the tCarbon approach with the hoses

well.. one thing u could adapt from tCarbon is their IC support. using z-style brackets with full bottom and top bar support.

soo hurry up and get your car already!

The cores i most likely will be using have places to mount it on the side. So the brackets wont be exactly the same, but will be supported. I mightmake it so you can reuse some/mostof the EJ stuff.

Im not sure if i will do the dv relocation, atleast not for a 180. Im not a big fan of routing the hose from one corner of the engine bay to the other. Its just to far to plumb the air back, not clean by any means. I might keep it close to the intake to make it clean, or move it further down to add some distance from the turbo.

ya i like the way tunerstop/greddy has their pipe route bc you dont have to relocate the DV and i believe it mounts onto the stock throttle body hose so i could keep my EJ hose. yaaay.

Having a FMIC kit and keeping the aliens is a plus to me- they are a feature of the TT I would like to remain functional.

bump for bringing back the old avatars.

and as for the aliens, mine never worked in the 1st place. so they would mean nothing to me if you had to delete them for a FMIC. i could only see myself using the aliens for rallying, in which i dont do, or spraying people.
