but if the timing belt is covered up to 100k miles, and it snaps, and screws everything up, shouldnt the dealership fix everyhting?

ok in my case when all was gutted open the belt didn't snap but rather the grooves that goes on the crank and all other stuuf was missing some teeth, and was stuck in the bottom spinning.
am i covered?
please let me know or a number i can call and talk to a an audi specialist that knows the rules and regs verbatum, so i can save the 2500 i'll be paying and spend it on revo, fmic, vagcom, wheels etc.

If the timing belt is missing rubber teeth, I would think it would be covered because the TB is what *actually* caused the failure.
Another reason to change it early, for those who don't know by now...
Look in your manual -- covered to 105k.
