The new TT designed for the A4 driver?

My fiancee has an A4 and I think its a POS. Feels like you're driving a tank or 18-wheeler. Acceleration is terribly slow and braking is equally terrible. Many times I felt like the car would never stop.
I think that if you want a comfy perfectly smoothride buy a lincoln town car.

Its a lease - maintence is perfect. Car just seems SOOOO heavy. Other than that the drive is smooth, quiet, comfy... but I think performance is lacking compared to my TT.
I beg to differ... I have an 03' 3.0l A4 Q and it is a very nimble handling spirited car. I can stay in 6th gear and slow down to 25 mph to go through the ez-pass lane on the PA Turnpike and then just step on it and the car smoothly rolls on back to 70 mph. It's not a rocket in that instance, but it pulls strong and smoothly. If I'm cruising in 6th around 70-75 mph and I drop it in 5th and nail it, it's a quick run to 85-90 mph. I love my A4.
I can't speak for the power of the 1.8T cars, but mine has the sport package and the 17" rims and it handles great. I want to put a set of 18" rims on it and upgrade the shocks to konis. As far as I know the 05' 1.8T is good for about 180hp. That isn't that much for a car as heavy as the A4 so in stock form I could see the argument that it was a dog. I know that the guys on Audiworld and here in the A4 forum manage to get lots of power out of their 1.8T cars. It's the same with the TT when you think about it. If stock isn't fast enough then there's always the aftermarket and plenty of ways to spend your money.
I opted for the3.0l cos' I wanted a car that had plenty of power and low-end torque that I didn't have to dump a bunch of money into to go fast. My TT is gonna be the rocket that I spend money on. I use the A4 as a commuter between Boardman OH (Youngstown area) and Pittsburgh. I've already put 12k miles on it since I bought it in December of last year. The TT on the other hand is a garage queen. I drive it only in nice weather and every couple of weeks. I want to keep the miles low on it as I plan on keeping it forever.

I also forgot to add that my car has the Sport Package. I haven't driven a B6 A4 without it. I know the 99' B5 that I drove when I was shopping for my A4 wasn't that crisp, but then again, it had 115k on the clock too.
I drove a brand new 2007 A4 2.0T with 7 speed CVT as a loaner for my TT. The car has impressive acceleration, about as good maybe marginally better than a stock 180. The inside was nice, not as boring looking as I thought it'd be, definitely not as artsy as the old TT interior though. More bells and whistles to play with, which was nice.
However it feels like a boat. I had no confidence in the handling, the four doors just don't cut it for someone used to flinging a 2 door low slung feather around turns.
