New TT owner
Hi guys, I just picked up my dream car...2001 TT Coupe Silver with gray interior...Quattro, 6spd, 235 horse, 55k miles
Anyways, there is a check engine light. I went to the local dealer and they told me 100 bucks to have it diagnosed. So I promptly went across the street to the Advance auto parts, borrowed there free tester, found out what was causing the light and also TURNED IT OFF! All for free! It said it was "Air metering device". I'm guessing this means its a mass airflow sensor? Sometimes, under 90-100% throttle, there is a slight hesitation, but it feels like it could be plug wires. Anyways, after a day of driving, the light came back on. I noticed the car seemed 2x faster after I had turned the CEL off, and as soon as it came back on the car slowed down accelaration wise. Any clues? thanks!
