The filter pictured and linked are the same thing and the bowl have been intact on my car for almost 2 years now, so i wouldnt worry about it.
The regulator controls the flow (thus regulator) and once you have a can to slow down the flow, the reg is no longer needed so you can toss it or keep it. |
The regulator? Is that the flat round plastic thingy that ouTTie914 is still hooked up to?
I guess that is why ouTTie isn't using the 90degree brass elbow since it is still running into the regulator. |
That is the reg. My fitting is way smaller than that btw. you can also get a black plastic one from the parts store for a coolant line.

I am still a bit confused. So this fitting either HUGE brass or Black Plastic gets installed in place of that big Round Plastic Regulator. I am glad it can be smaller since that Brass one is pretty huge and pretty ugly ;) Going to the Hardware store tonight and see if I can get all the parts.

My fitting is small and you cant really see any of it unless you look for it. So there are plenty of options out there you can do.
