Default Oil in Forge Spliter?

I just chnanged my oil on my 2001 TT 225 quattro. I noticed there was some oil on my Forge splitter valve, not a large quanity. Is this fairly normal? Is it something tha I can correct with a catch can?

you will have some oil in the pipes from blowing through, when the dv cracks there is a chance some oil might come out. A catch can will solve that...

Holy hell how much boost are you pushing for the DV to crack?!?
Yes the there is suppose to be some oil in the intake, but on the valve... that's a first to me!
I'm willing to bet there is oil in your intercooler, as well as covering your IAT sensor.

i will almost gurantee there is... In order to have oil spew out of the dv or bov there is a good amount of out in the charge pipes and or intercooler. My brother had some coming out of his HKS on his mr2, he pulled his intercooler out and there was a good amount of oil in it. He got a catch can and never had the problem again.

I have a lght coat of oil on mine, but the Y pipe off of the breather is also a bit cracked so....

~I have seen many with a bit of oil that are running stock vaccum hose set-up. If you reroute and clean up the hoses and move the DV to the cold side piping, the problem is not as bad.

The catch can works fairly well. Mine has caught just about a teaspoon since installed sometime in November '07.
Still some oil gets through, however not nearly as much.
