If I'm reading this right, you meaning, " virgin ecu " is one that is stock/factory?
It would be really nice if we could do this. Please shed more light on this topic.

I'm a software developer - when I saw "Hex Editor" I was immediately in love.
Ha ha!

This could also be pretty dangerous - If someone modifies their settings and don't advance the timing or make any other important changes, it could be a disaster. This topic should be a sticky if it is legit.

ok, did some more logging, since i chipped this all a guess, sort of.
if your not chipped try this and do some logs at your own risk!!!!!!
this is with unisettings downloaded from above.
ch2 110%
ch6 +5ms
ch7, as fast as you want..
ch9 +2.25deg
ch13 +10
ch14 +4
ch15 *ff* appears ~ cmd boost
ch16 *ff* appears ~ rpm/response time to throttle

there are alot more maps to modify than the mentioned to run correctly, also tuning should be done at a rpm dependant breakdown vs. unisetting changes over the entire rpm range.

This is a step in the right direction for open source ECU tweeks..... I spent my money on APR though as they have already done the R&D

right, i spent 500 for an apr chip as well and i love it. but im just tinkering around. its been a hobby of mine for a while now. i have used winols and a few other programs and have looked at the full code, and jesus its long and confusing. i just stumbled upon this the other day in a what if i was to look at the hex in a vas file from unisettings? i looked at vtune, and it has like 7 lines of 16 point hex. none of which makes sense to me yet. i have a freind with a stock ecu on his 4 225q, he said he is interested in tinkering around with this this weekend. if he is unavailable, im going to use my 2.8 a4, and see if the settings affect the load on that for the heck of it, but i won't be able to log boost because its n/a. i have also tested emailing a altered file with success btw, know itstime hammer down the code for all. if anyone with experiance has anything good to offer, post up for all to see.

I cleared my codes and performed a throttle body adjustment, and then hacked the windows to be rolled down by key fob. I think it paid for itself already.. I Am going to remapp ecu next
