thanks. I did mean the ~60 option vs the ~130 dollar option. It didnt make much sense to me at this point to spend twice the amount to move it a little farther out. I appreciate the clarification.

I'm making it from scratch instead of buying a kit so far I've spent 10 bucks I'm making a extention so it would stick farther out. Also it's attached by the steel clamps not by zip ties since I only took 5 minute to put the filter on the MAF couldn't get it, gave up, took a nap. I did it so I could get some MATCHING color in my bay otherwise I woulda have got the A4 kit.

the "filter Only" for Greddy is a lot different than the "filter only" for HKS.

with greddy... "filter only" refers to the entire filter assembly with inlet and housing.
... with HKS... "filter only" refers only to the actual foam replacement filter element (without the inlet and housing) that you buy as a replacement so you dont have to replace the whole thing.
If you buy HKS... you need to buy the filter assembly to ensure you get the inlet and filter housing too.

It gets you closer to the outside of the engine compartment; where the colder air is.
when the car is moving, the entire engine bay is much cooler than most think it is. When it stands still, the temps rise a good amount. Off the maf and in the corner wont make any differnce. Still think to the corner looks better and fit better.
