For about the past week I've noticed what can best be described as a crackling noise coming from somewhere on the center or passenger side of my car. I took my wife out of the car and still had the noise so I know its not her
Its a light sounding noise that gets worse at speed and on rough roads and its driving me nuts.
Any thoughts of what or where it could be coming from?

 

Does it sound like its around your cd player or air conditioner controller?

 

you didn't blow out a speaker did you? they will make a crackling sound when there messed up.
my trucks pass side speaker does this.

 

BlackRaptor- Its not a speaker issue because I hear the sound regardless of whether or not the stereo is playing.

Moeron- The sound could be around the CD player/climate control system. So far, I've had a difficult time pin pointing where exactly the sound is coming from.

 

I have kind of a crinkling almost a buzz sound coming from my cd player area ,but its not either the cd player or the air conditioner cause its there when both are off.

 

Have a similar sounds from the radio/AC pod and so far I tried removing the ashtray, tighening the knee brace bolts, removing the radio all to no avail. Happens only when it's cold outside and goes away when I press the lower right corner of the pod. Perhaps this will help you find out what it's not...
