If you have indecision, you are definately not cut out for the TT.
The fact that you are being very sensible and pragmatic about this lends to the fact that you are most likely A4 material.
That's my nonprofessional opinion of course.

After driven an 04 A4, 08 A5, and an 08 TT, I gotta say I still love my 02 TT! I agree with the statement above, the TT is for the one that wants, exhiliration and uniqueness, and is willing to sacrafice freedom of being able to haul things, friends, etc.
Can't believe I remembered where this was.
I just happened to think of it.
TT Buyer's Demographics(probably new car)
Its a grain-o-salt thing but the opinion leaders and individualist thing hits home with me.

Well I am 20 years old, I live in California near the coast, My first car was a 2003 C6 corvette. I loved it but wanted a lifted truck, so then to a dmax diesel, I have missed having a car since, Through all the opinions and info I am getting, The TT is more suitable for me... I race western late models atAltamont Speeday. So I am going to want something that is going to a touch more on the sporty side, and alittle faster then others...thanks again guys

ok well another question, I dont really want a stick, but it looks as though my choices are slim on finding a auto, have you guys heard of any problems with the autos? And i completely agree with you about the TT's looks and interior and such, thats why I beleive that i am so drawn to them...

. I personally don't like Automatics which take part of the fun away. If you however do want an automatic I would suggest an 04 or later 3.2 VR6 TT with paddle shifters. Those are pretty nice and have decent power. And with the 3.2 6 cylinder motor are a bit less maintenance than the Turbo counterparts.

The question is what do you need the car for? If it will be your only transportation and you need more room go with the A4 since it is a lot rooooomier than the TT. If you want a Fun car and like to tinker and like a lot of do it yourself maintenance go with the TT [8D] I love my TT but I would never take it across country

I have a 2003 FWD TT which has the tiptronic gearbox. It is ok, I do wish I had a manual but it wasnt my choice so, I do like being in control of when to shift...there is a little bit of lag just like any electronic gearbox. I have never had a problem with it and I have had it since it was brand new. I have never driven a manual TT so I cant really compare the two, but I like the tiptronic. I just think a manual is better than auto anyday.
