Please look this over for me!!
I am curious about the pistons myself. I had 7 DSMs before my TT which have interference engines in them. Any time a TB broke (which is a lot) the valves were the least of my problems. They imapcted every piston on the intake side, and popped the rollers which caused the lifters to score the cams. One time a valve broke completely and it or a valve guide went through my turbo eating every fin, had I been WOT it might have made it through the wastegate instead. I haven't looked into the 1.8 engines at all yet, but if I were getting all that work done on mine, I would want to see or at least know everything I could.
The latest response from Audi thanks to ya'lls help:
That has all been properly checked and no other problems were found. There was some damage to the valves in engine that were bent. My shop foreman Larry is helping with this repair and personally replacing the valves on cly head.
The main cause to this problem was the timing belt tensioner was faulty causing the timing belt to lose tension and the car to overheat therefore causing the valves to bend in cly head. We have took are time with examining the engine, we defiantly want everything to be corrected.
