Default Popping noise when shifting -- update! bad things

So when i push in the clutch it literally goes "pop"... it doesnt do this all the time though, although it is a new thing, as in it just started today. Car has 59k miles on it with original clutch and ive heard somewhere (dont remember where) that clutches tend to go around 60-70k miles... There is no popping or anything when turning the wheel so i have ruled out suspension and what not... any thoughts?

thanks. ---kiva

there is really no time frame as to when clutches go out, it all depends on how they are driven, your clutch could go out at 5k miles or 105k miles. as for the popping, I don't know what it could be

haha...

do you think a stage 3or3+ clutch is too much? I will be going with a t3/t4 50time .48 turbo and i need a clutch to go with it...

Like he said, it depends on your driving style for how long a clutch will last. Cant really think of any reason why it would pop unless something is wrong with the peddle and pops from there

Yea get ready to pay out your *** when you go to get that clutch put in. I paid 900 labor alone and that was half of what others wanted. But the clutch is sweet! stage 2+ from spec. If you get the lightweight flywheel get ready for some chatter at idle. Mine goes away at 1000 rpm so I think Im going ot have my Idle raised to that or 1500 rpm. Im sick of people telling me I have a lifter Knock LOL

well i dont think that im going to get a new flywheel as wheel... i dont think its that necessary, and if i do its not going to be one of those lightweight things... i dont like the whole chatter thing, my bro put an 8 or 9lb aluminum flywheel in the WRX and its so bad... haha

If you paid $900 for a clutch install and that was HALF the cost you got taken to the cleaners and hung out to dry.

I paid $400 in labor to have mine done. I don't even think the dealer quoted more than 5-6hrs labor for the clutch.

Someone should be able to look that up in the bentley or etka to verify labor times on that.
