possible buyer
im usually on the a6 forum but am in the market for a 225 TT....i have some question and would greatly appreciate the advice. what are some things i should look for with a tt with over 60k miles, opinions on the low redline and what years to look for and to stay away from? thanks in advance.

Pick up an 02 or later with a CPO. If the car is over 60K you need to make sure that the timing belt has been changed, Audi recommends 110K, but experience has proven that anything past 60K is living dangerously.
As far as the "low redline" goes, it really isn't an issue, the TT's turbo spools quickly and you get boost at around 3500 rpm or better with a little tuning (Chip and boost machine). When I have mine at the track I am often in third gear at redline without any concern at all, the 1.8T motor is very reliable.

I like the APR chip, I can switch programs using the cruise control buttons, so it is fast and I don't have to keep a hardware dongle around to make the change.
But truthfully, APR, REVO, and GAIC are all good chips, I would just go with someone you can get local support from. Do you have any Audi/VW tuning shops in your area?

i just dont know if i want to get a new ecu and have a stock one for later or just get the chip on the old ecu
