Power seat and top issues
While cleaning my 2008 TT today I realized that the power seat is not working properly. The seat will move forward on the track, but the back of the seat will not move at all. I cannot hear the motor running, so it may be burned up? Please help, it was working earlier, but would only go back so now the seat is laying too far back for me to drive comfortably. This seat is not moved very often so I don't know why the motor would be burned up.
Also, my convertible top may or may not be broken. I will start from the beginning of this adventure. My car was involved in a photo shoot and the bimbo model sat on the top, after I told her wear to park her fanny! People just don't listen! Anyway, I could not get the top to raise automatically, so my husband and I had to raise it manually. We had to detach some kind of something (connecting rods?). After much cussing and yelling at each other we got the top closed, but have not tried to open it again. I accidentally hit the button today while cleaning and the top seemed like it wanted to open. I was afraid to let it try, since we have not reconnected the rods. How do I go about reconnecting those to see if the top will function properly now? I'm so afraid that something will break. Is there something other than connecting the rods that I need to do?

Hello TTQ ,
Sorry can't help u on the seat back not working but the top not working may be because in order to manually put it up or down u need to turn a screw to the cylinder and release the pressure from the hydraulics.....this screw is located in the trunk (there is a cross cut out in the material lining the trunk) you need to turn it counter clockwise I think...it is in your manual! If you turned it to release so u could manually get it up then u need to turn it back. I myself would never let anyone.....Repeat ....Anyone sit on my car........Model , President or the Pope!

Americo, hindsight is always 20/20. No one else will be sitting on my car! We already turned the screw back once we got the top up. I guess the only thing I can do is try and if it doesn't work I will cuss some more. As for the seat hopefully someone can help with that. All the plugs are plugged in and all the wires look fine. I can't hear the motor running, so it could be burned out. The motor being burned would be odd since this car is not that old and the seat doesn't get moved a lot.
