Default problem starting the car

Hey everyone, I just bought myself a 2001 TT roadster a month ago. Up until a week ago I have not had any problems and have loved every second behind the wheel....but throughout the last week after I have parked my car in the driveway for the night and gone back out to start it the next morning the engine keeps turning over but won't start, if i try again it starts up first try. I don't think its the battery because the engine keeps on making the noise like it wants to start. Has anyone has had this problem or does anyone knows how it can be solved easily or might this be a major problem that will keep on getting worse?....I don't know if this info will help but I use 93 octane and it seems like this problem started around the same time as an oil change. Thank you guys so much in advance.

look into what color your "coolant temp sensor" is as well as possible MAF problems...

if your coolant temp sensor is the black one get a green one off of ecstuning.com

Welll after postiong and reading on this site for about 5 monthes now.... ive seen 10+ posts on this including my own...so obviousely its a very commn problem with the tt's.... I have a feeling its a fueling issue....whenever i turn key on and let the pump flow for a few seconds i never have hard starting probs anymore.

Granted I don't own a TT (yet). But from a general point of view: Fuel pump, Fuel pump fuse/relay (do you hear the pump turn on?), low voltage battery, coolant temp could be reading bad signal, no spark from plugs/wires.

As far as black smoke, car is running rich (to much fuel compared to air).

Here's my big elaborate conspiracy theory...
Who ever did your oil change took the filter out from the top of the car.
Then just as they almost had the filter out; their big hands pushed against the injectors, causing them to loosen just enough to give you a headache!

Here's my logic behind it!
If it was the pump fuse the car just wouldn't start period.
Sparks plugs... possibly, quick and easy to check that.
You wouldn't really have any problems starting the car with a bad maf... it would just run like crap.
This is also easy to check, just unplug the maf and see if she runs better.
But the injectors my dear friend, ohhh the injectors!!

Okay I'm done.

When I had problems with that it was my Mass Airflow Sens. It got to the point that it wouldent start at all. I thaught it was not getting enough gas.. I was wrong. When I had it fixed they said my spark plugs were sitting in a puddle of gas. So the plugs and MAS were replaced (find one on ebay too much from the dealer) It ran like a champ! My car would turn over and sputter like it wanted to start but dident for a few trys. I got worse as time went on then nothing.

Its worth a shot?

when you first try and start the car do you turn the key and wait for the "OK"?

you need to build fuel pressure before starting the car.
