Default Question on headlight control module

Hi, All

My drivers side headlight stopped working a while back - when i turn in on it flickers and shuts off. My mechanic determined that it's the headlight control module causing this: there is no negative connection going to the light.

Does anyone have any advice where to get the part, and whether I could fit one from a different model Audi? On eBay, I see similar looking modules from an A6/S6 selling for $40-$70; dealer quote was around $600 and a used part salesman quoted me $250.

Also, is there any chance I could actually repair the module myself?

Thanks!

Same problem here. It seems to happen when it rains so maybe mine is getting wet. If I turn the car off for several hours, it comes back on.
