Default Radio Code Needed

So over the weekend I installed a boost gauge. During the install, I accidently loosened the fuse for my radio. Now when I get the Safe msg on my radio. I don't have the manual, I called Penske Audi and they want to charge me 130 dollars for the code. Is there any way I can get this code other than going through the dealer? Any help is greatly appreciated. TYVM

From what I understand, you have to go to a dealer for the code. Some dealers, however will give it to you and other charge for it.

no way to get it besides dealer... you could always sit there and go from 0000-9999... might take a while though

That is a very high price. I lost mine and had to pay the University Audi dealership in Seattle 40 bucks.

Murphy's Law:

A few months later I found the factory manual and my code and security cards hidden under the rear seat. I was looking for my other car keys and popped the bottoms off and whalla. I immediatly thought...."oh great".

At a 130 bucks for the code. I am really considering picking up an aftermarket deck. Probably will do it sometime this weekend when I get a chance.

Yeah you can do that or call another dealer. Like I said that is a huge difference in price. Mine was around 40 (no more than 60) and it came with a free comp carwash.

Well I made the decision to go ahead and replace my stock headunit. Already placed the order at Crutchfield. Hopefully will be here in a few days. Here's the unit I chose: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...&tp=5684&avf=N

What's cool is that Crutchfield gives free wiring harness (car specific), oem radio removal keys, FM Adapter booster, Installation Guide. Not bad for 189 bucks.

There is a good possibility that I will end up isntalling a complete sound system. Ordered the deck, I alrdy have a 1200 watt mono block Phoenix Gold Amp. Just need to buy the Subs. Crutchfield is giving out an offer buy one get 1 free on one of their more expensive subs. The price of that sub is like 399 per but the 2nd one is free. I just dont like the cosmetic look of it so gonna opt out n get the $300 fosgate sub. I don't really want to run 2 subs. I just want 1 that will hit hard n clean.
