Default random codes, where to start?

I am still getting the 17544 fuel trim: bank 1 (add) system too lean and 17963 charge pressure: maximum limit exceeded codes. Any ideas on what would be causing this? the car is a 2002 tt 225hp quattro. Bone stock except for the previous owner tossed on a stupid cone filter instead of the airbox.

The cone filter isn't stupid. But if it's an oily k&N, ditch it and get a dry-flow. Clean out your maf and reset your ecu. See if it comes back.

it is some cheap like 3 dollar filter from autozone or something like that. I am ordering a dryflow. I replaced my maf sensor cause it was bad, all new spark plugs, changed my fuel filter, new green coolant sensor, and new coil packs. I thought it was kinda weird that I didn't get the lean or charge pressure code until after I changed my maf sensor. Also the maf sensor that I took off of the car in the inside of the housing there was no screen. Where with the new one I got from ecstuning there is the plastic and metal screen in it.

From my understanding, the screen is needed to straighten the flow. I'm pretty sure it's necessary. You could always get on audifreaks.com and post your questions. You may have better luck there.

You might want to clean your iat sensor. It's located on your intake manifold right next to you throttle body. If it's never been done, it's a good idea to clean it.

Same way you would clean a maf sensor take it out of the intake manifold, place in bag of rubbing alcohol, shake gently, if the little wire on the sensor is really gunked up you can gently rub it with a q-tip. Or you can always buy a new one.... http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-TT_MKI...r_Temperature/
