Maybe next time I'm heading up to NY I'll stop in and talk to them.
I'll tell them ScoTT sent me!

I had the GIAC tuning on my car and when I did my exhaust I switched to the APR program. I like it much more. The throttle response is much better and not having to haul the stupid Flashloader around is much nicer.

Welp, heard back from GIAC, and I'm going to take this as good news...
GIAC has apparently heard of this problem before, but only on TTs with an upgraded intake. Sumptin' bout turbulent air flow...

Heck, I don't even have a K&N filter, because of the over oiling fear.
This is good news because it means the company has fixed this before!

hopefully they'll have a fix for you. turbulent airflow though... weird excuse. You'd think there would be MAF codes not engine torque codes.

I somewhat understand what they're saying. The manual claims one of the fixes for P1335 to be the IAT sensor. (here's the stretch) So if the air is turbulent the sensor may not be getting an accurate reading.

This also makes me think it's more the program than my car. Simply because boost and vac are fine, and the AF ratios are normal. If I had a major boost/vac leak somewhere then I could see how the turbulent air theory would be possible; considering I have the stock intake.

Think I'm going to do some logged runs today. I'll post the results when I do.

Wheres your IAT sensor?

Post-turbo, isn't it? Doesn't matter how smooth or not your air filter makes the air, its going thru the compressor regardless.

BTW, when I took my manifold off, I forgot to plug my IAT back in when I was finished. Hows that for getting an improper reading. Car ran rich, had a code for IAT signal too high (that struck me as odd - resistance reading?), but no torque limit codes. If my car can run w/o it, I don't see how any chip could possibly rely on that signal SOO MUCH that it fails w/o it.

That's why I said it was a stretch.
My IAT is just after the throttle body on the intake manifold. So yeah it's post turbo.

I do know that the torque limit on my car is set to 399 N m, or about 295 ft/lbs.
I highly doubt I'm exceeding that amount of torque!
If I am then my engine must have some super magical way to increase the displacement... Didn't know Audis were THAT adaptable!

For my logging I was going to get RPMS, Boost requested and actual, speed, and A/F ratios. I plan to do 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear runs.

Just hope I still have some time left on the vista trial period for excel.

Sounds more like the timing is above the threashold and causing the problem. The iat sensor is probably getting to high of a temp and pulling a bunch of timing out also. If you can run a log of the timing, i wouldnt be surprised if you have well above 6* of pull in more than one cyl.

GIAC = Refund

REVO + New Flash = Problem Solved

or

APR as well

319.5 Nm (235 ft/lbs) of torque at 3960 RPMS in second gear... Hmm...

I took the logs, but the list is way too long to graph.
That was the highest torque reading I got in second gear, but there were a bunch more that were very close. I thought I was also logging timing, but apparently that wasn't the case. There was no correction of fuel throughout my runs. P1335 was triggered after each run, but it did not trigger the EPC or CEL light.

I need to find a really straight deserted road to get the required readings. Honestly I'm shocked to see that torque number.

Here's a dyno from GIAC's website for 2002-2000 180 TT. I'm going to assume this graph is for FWD, my TT is quattro.

Note that the max torque they record is 212 ft/lbs.
My boost gauge maxed out at 15 PSI. I'm not sure what boost I was hitting when 235 ft/lbs was hit, but I can guarantee it was not over 15 PSI.
