Default Rear tire wear

I recently had some aftermarket rims installed and the guy told me that my rear shocks were leaking. I blew him off thinking he was trying to upsell me, but then noticed that my rears were unusually worn on the inside edge. I know this can be a problem with camber after you lower the rear, but mine is stock. Could the shocks be the cause of the tire wear? They almost need replacing and they only have about 9k miles on them. I was considering a rear camber kit, but if it is the possibility of the shocks I may start there. Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks

If there is oil on the shock housing, they are bad and need replacing. This could cause wear but it wouldn't hurt to have an alignment done with the new tires. Rear shocks are pretty simple to install and something just about anyone can accomplish.
