Excellent news - my check engine light came on!

p1128

I searched and a lot of it pointed to a vacume leak or MAF.

Hopefully this info helps out and is related.

Also, the motor mounts are stock.

Took car in and had the cat and o2 sensors checked. all is fine.

I begged the VW dealer to take a shot at it and they said maybe in 10 days. Love it.

My bet would be a really small vaccum leak, or one of the 3 vaccum check valves has a crack in it. Both of those would cause your problems.

No boost gauge? Seeing what the vacuum reading is would tell you very quickly if you have a leak or not. I'm chasing a similar problem myself. My vac has been 10hg at idle forever and runs perfectly while cruising. Ugh it's driving me nuts and it will you too.
