you can buy a low mileage used k03 from someone on Vortex for Around $150 on ebay they gob. new for $350.00 all day long.

Thats not a direct bolt on for the 180, you need the exhuast manifold, up-pipe, intercooler piping, and fuel injectors to run that turbo

This is what the turbo from a K03 equipped transverse motor looks like (this is the k04-001):

Thats probably closer to what you are looking for.
That is a direct replacement for you turbo. If you want to know the shape of you engine do a compression test. This will give you a good idea of what kind of condition your engine is in. Also if your turbo is not showing signs its taking a dump, dont bother changing it.
