A few days ago this just started. When I close the top of the TT it doesn't engage all the way and the light stays on, windows don't go up that last 1" or whatever. i have to bang on the center to get it to engage. I tried cleaning out the latch areas but no luck.

 

Does the handle latch the top? If it does, then there are 2 micro switches that are not being engaged when the handle turns to latch the top closed. The switches need to be cleaned or adjusted.

 

Take a look into the latching area above the windshield. I found a loose rubber piece that was keeping my top from engaging all the way.
