I've noticed when i start my car that my SAI doenst kick on. Does it have a fuse that its connected to that may have blown or is it dead? What should I do about it?

your talking about the secondary air pump right? and it doesn't come on at all when the car is completly cold?

Is it a necesary piece? What will removing it do? Just lose weight?

yes it is fused. depending on the year of the car you can use a vag com to manually activate it.

Yeah it doesnt come on at all when its cold. It used to but now its stopped.

Because you can hear it when you turn your car on when its a cold start. Its that loud whine you hear

try 43. do you have an Owners Manual? It lists the fuse layout in there.
