Default Samco hose blown

So I went out and got a revo tune, replaced the turbo, got new samco hoses, new spark plugs, My exact words were fix everything. So I got it back 4,500 later. And with in a week the samco hose that connect the intercooler to the throttle boddle or intake manifold blew off. The only thing cahanged was an K&N cone filter on the MAF. I know enough to know the K&N didn't do it and the samco hose didn't just fail, so my guess was shotty mechanics. The owner of the shop offered to come down and take a look. I think he knows he is going to have to replace it.

So what could have happend to the engine for those brief seconds while the intake samco hose was disconnected? Could it have sucked up some crap? Sure? Sorry I am just ranting now. Any ideas what caused this other than bad mechanic work?

Well since they are specifically designed not to fail and the clamp is missing that is my guess.

This is a funny thread. Your mad at samco and the shop for the install when all you have to do is to go reconnect the hose and clamp and then make sure its tight. Problem fixed, you should be happy its in a easy place to fix

Yeah I have to pull off the bumper to get to it. What I am made about Cincy is the fact that the I paid the guy close to 5 grand and he forgets to tighten a hose. That is poor workmanship and I just don't apprieciate spending 5k with him and not my normal mechanic. I am now going back to my previous mechanic for him to check all the work done. So yes I can fix it but the problem is if it sucked anything up my engine is F$cked. Cincy would you agree with that?

your engine should be fine. the throttle plate would block anything getting inside the intake manifold...assuming you let off the gas when you heard(felt) it blow off.

Clamps dont always stay tight. Its not a big deal, your engine is fine and it jsut a clamp. Ive more than tighten them before and they still came loose. I survived
