How does this stack up to a Garrett K-24? Any ideas?

Thats a porsche turbo and would take custom fab work to make work on a 1.8t. Also, it dwarfs the k24.

I realize that my point was the name. I agree that’s a big *** turbo, but who in the hell made it? Import or not.

I see that is being sold in SD, Cali But "made out of Inconel" & has Honeywell/ Allied Ballistic Ball-Bearings?The next questionis,, “Theres gotta to be somethingwrong with it?” I’m a live long machinist (almost 30 years)&[/i]I know what it takes to make anything out of Inconel. There ante no way someone can tell me they’ll sell a brand new Garrett Stage 3 or 4 for a few hundred bucks,,,, there’s gotta be something wrong with it. Besides the fact is so big it’s impossible to spool up unless you hit 8 grand!

its a t3t4 journal bearing turbo, new it cost about $600. Bigger and nicer journal bearing turbos are just over $800. Your not going to find ajournal bearing turbo for more than that unless you look at Turbonetics and their ceramic or whatever type of bearings they use in theirs.

Like i said before, this is better suited for a VR6 and not a 1.8T
