As the title states, my serpentine belt is about a half inch off to the left of belt tensioner and wearing fast. Everything works fine there is just the overtime buildup of the wearing belt and the belt wearing out sooner. When I try to reset it, when the car starts up it sets it back to the offset position. Does anyone know why it is doing this? It is a 2000 TT FWD 180 hp

check if all your pulleys are tight and straight, a loose pulley could walk in off the tensioner, or if one is crooked, also is the belt actually tight after u reset the tensioner?
