WhenI turnON the engine...andIsee the big, white OK! onmy lcd... and under it it says SERVICE! with red letters... what does it mean??? please don't tell me there is something wrong withmy car... [:@]... It's enough I already have to take it to the dealership to make it go straight... it pulls a little to the right, with new tires though...

Its your service interval reminder. The dealership can reset for you. There is a way you can reset it yourself but you'll have to look around for it. I think its holding in the trip button while turning the car on.. something like that.

Found the reset method:

CLUSTER METHOD (This is in your manual as well):

- Switch ignition off
- Press and hold trip reset button, Turn key on
- Central display will show "SERVICE in XXX" or "SERVICE"
- Release button
- Turn the clock adjuster **** counter-clockwise or clockwise, this will reset the display "SERVICE in XXX" Adjust to desired interval
- Switch ignition off

As for the tires - are they directional tires that were maybe installed incorrectly? Did the car pull to the right with the old tires?

The pull to one side could be tie rods or the suspension bushing at the top of the strut my need changing they tend to shrink.

New tires means get an alignment, unless you're POSITIVE it's ok (sounds like its not). That way you won't wear-out your new expensive tires prematurely. And keep them rotated (I do mine every time I change oil).

I guess the wheels were balanced when the tyres were fitted?? the other is just a service time out warning and nothing to worry about

SUHWEET!!!

I had my service light on when I got the car and found out it went away after the scheduled service. My car was still under warranty so I took it in. Good to know though for when it's out of warranty.

Hrmmm... I tried this for ***** and giggles. Do I need not turn on the vehicle with the trip reset pushed in? do I just turn the key over to accessory or ignition on?

** Just to be clear, you're talking about the little trip odometer button at the bottom of the cluster (right side), correct?

i don't know how the car was before these tires, becauseI just got the car,Iwill realign them...audi said$200 is that usual?,

as for the service light, i guess i'll just take it to them and change the oil, are they going to reset it???...
a lot of info should be in that manal about the service light too... [sm=proof.gif]how do i get a manual??? was the dealership suppose to give me one? i got it at 45k miles (2001) 3 days ago... also... tonight while driving... the brake lights and the cruise control stoped working until a turned off the heater/AC... after that everyhting is fine... just an error? should i checkthe fuses???[sm=dontgetit.gif]

Other than these little issues(hopefully won't get bigger) I LOVE THE CAR!!!...
i just need to get used to the gears... i feel like i can skip a few of them... it's 6 of them... so i got plenty...
