Wife was up in Michigan and had the car overheat twice wile parked.. I fly up there to drive back with her and The car overheats one time in construction traffic.. Pull over pop the hood to help cool her off and notice the radiator fans are not running.. I checked to see if there were running at everystop after that. No, never came on. Get to florida and go to kick on the A/C. Nothing. COmpressor not comming on. Still has juice in it so its not kicking off on low pressure. I have to have a bad relay somewhere. I dont have any books to tell me what relayts go to what.
Can anyone help me.
Thank you

Our cars do not have the best cooling system. - I can let my car sit for quite a while in winter without heating issues, however if I drive it for 100miles or so and then park for like 40 minutes without doing anything it will over heat. - I dont know if thats normal or not, but I've just come to terms that are cars do not cool themselves well. - Which i'm finding is a common problem amoung TT owners.
Either way, how long does car really need to sit on anyways?

RE: Shes not blowing like she use to!
On top of the battery there is a box that has wires come out of it. Open the box and check the fuses and fuse strips to see if any thing is wrong with them. Have fun.

I've never had my needle go over the halfway point.
Turning on the heat can be a band-aid if you need to get somewhere, it will lower the coolant temps a few degrees.
Turn it on full heat, open the windows if you have to.

On the green top. My guage seams to read fine. all the fuses look good. I checked the normaly open andclosed legs on the relays and there good. But I still think something is bad and the car is such a pain to find wires to get amp readings. Its just funny that the fans and the ac compressor go out together..
Sometimes the redio will stay on and wont turn off.. I dont know it that has anything to do with it. I just figured it is a bad unit like everyother vw/ audi

I had the same problem and it turned out to be the far left fuse located on top of the battery box.
Others with the problem have found that they're fan control module failed. I think its about ~$100 part and can easily be replaced as a DIY. Its located under the battery box.
